proposed new Town Centre signals a key move in
pushing forward with an exciting concept.

Nine reported precincts are proposed for the
centre, wide in variety, and comprehensive in
their nature, to ultimately serve the needs of
100,000 people over the coming two decades.
The proposed 100,000spm of retail space is
bigger than the Pacific Fair centre at
Broadbeach. An entertainment precinct,
residential developments, government and medical
services, offices, a community centre, library
and even a central swimming pool are part of the
scheme.
There will be cafes, newsagents, florists and
hairdressers. And the existing Coomera Railway
Station, around which the town is being
developed, will be transformed to a
comprehensive transport hub.
One precinct will offer TAFE and information
technology facilities, and perhaps the Gold
Coast's third university.
Gold Coast City Council says it wants the new
billion-dollar centre to be the coast's
Supertown.
Some $2.3 billion of other works - industrial
developments and commercial undertakings - are
mooted with-in a 10 kilometre radius through at
least 13 projects.
